Application Methods Preparation of substrate is crucial for maximum adhesion and
performance of this product. 1)Surface must be clean and dry before application. Wear gloves and eye protection at all
times. Do not place bare hands on dried
concrete after preparation. Hand oils
will prevent coating from adhering to surface. 2) Remove any loose or broken concrete and mortar with scraping blades
or other tools. Sweep off any dust or
dirt from surface. Remove any dried mud
and dirt from concrete surface with brush and water. 3) Remove any previous coatings that may have been applied to
surface. Remove or grind down any sharp
edges or points of concrete that may stick up on surface. 4) Make sure to cover prepared area from rain and moisture if time does
not allow the application of the material for that day. 5) Do not apply material in temperatures below 50ºF (10ºC) or above
100ºF (38ºC). 6) Completely stir and mix
FGI-647. Do not allow open containers to sit directly
in sunlight or high moisture and rain.
Remove any skinned material that may develop in containers. Material
does not need to be thinned. Use as
received. 7)
FGI-647 may be applied with a
brush, paint roller or paint spray system. 8) For spray application of
FGI-647,
the use of low pressure air or pump spray systems is recommended. Apply material in a uniform spray
pattern. Move spray wand in opposite
directions to insure complete coverage of surface. NOTE: Use a paint roller or pad system to evenly spread any excessive
materials that may build up or puddle.
Avoid runs and ponding of material. 10) Apply multiple coats of material depending on porosity of surface
and penetration rate. Allow material to
penetrate and dry to touch between multiple applications. One or two coats are recommended for use as a
sealer primer finish. 11)
FGI-647 is dry to touch in 1
hour depending on weather conditions.
Full cure for topcoat application is up to 24 hours depending on
conditions. 12) Clean up tools and equipment with soap and water. Storage Stability & Shelf Life
