FGI – 100A
Unique
Coatings – Extreme Results
Description
FGI -100A is an extremely unique ultimate
performance corrosion protection coating. FGI - 100A is a one of a kind
Aerosol Spray coating. The aerosol packaging allows for a very simple to
use, safe, convenient, economical, and commonly understood method of
applying a coating. FGI - 100A is available in many colors therefore
top-coating is not necessary because FGI - 100A is extremely Weather, UV,
Chemical, Salt, and Abrasion resistant providing for an unsurpassed
durable wear surface with superior adhesion properties that promotes a
nearly indestructible coating surface.
FGI -100A can be applied to metal, fiberglass,
concrete, wood, and other surfaces. Can be applied to rusted or new
surfaces. FGI - 100A requires little or no surface preparation thus
reducing the time, labor and the TOTAL cost of your project.
Application Methods
FGI
-100A is an aerosol applied by spraying from its own container. Remove the
attached actuator from the cap and place into the valve located under the
can. Push the actuator firmly to release the accelerators into the resin.
Shake can vigorously before spraying. The can is now usable. When finished
spraying, invert can and spray to remove residue from nozzle. The surface
to be coated must be completely dry, and any dirt, mildew, oily
substances, large flakes of rust or old loose paint should be wire brushed
or power tooled off. To facilitate removable of the loose flakey rust, old
paint or loose mill scale; the surface may be pressure washed at 3500 psi
or higher. Let surface dry completely.
FGI -100A is an atmospheric
moisture cured product. However, any moisture on surface before applying
coating will cause coating failure. The product must have a dry surface to
be able to penetrate the surface and bond with the substrate. No
additional surface preparation is necessary.
If surface to be coated has chlorine ions,
these must be neutralized with Chlor-Rid mixed into the pressure wash
water. This is a rare occurrence but usually occurs around salt water.
Chlorine ion test will verify.
Any overspray must be cleaned immediately with
acetone, toluene, xylene, or MEK.
Apply Two thin coats. Wait till first coat is
tacky dry, usually 90 minutes in 75 F, 75% humidity, then apply second
coat, but not longer than 4 hours between coats as the first coat will not
accept the second coat. This second coat will cover any voids in the
surface due to a very rough surface. Two thin coats are better than one
thick coat. If coating is applied too thick it will bubble due to out
gassing.
Apply FGI –100A between the air temperatures
of 35F and 115F. Do not apply to surfaces above 150F.
Use in well ventilated area; if not possible,
use a NIOSH approved self contained breathing apparatus or vapor filters
on a mask. Protective gloves and safety glasses must be worn at all times.
This product is meant to stay where it is applied. Only very high abrasion
will remove the coating. Caution: With the extreme adhesion
characteristics of this product all safety procedures must be followed.
